2025 Property Taxes are due The deadline for paying 2025 property taxes is rapidly approaching! Payments not made by January 31, 2026, will accrue an additional 7% of the balance in penalty and interest. ”Please don’t miss this important deadline as it can be costly,” stated John R. Ames, Dallas County Tax Assessor/Collector.
Notice regarding payments by mail Payments made by mail are credited according to the U.S. Postmark. Payments bearing postmarks past deadlines will incur full penalty and interest charges. If you plan to mail your payment, please be aware that the USPS has recently made changes to how it postmarks letters and packages, which can result in the postmark reflecting a later date than when an item is placed in a mailbox. To ensure that your payment is postmarked by January 31st, you can go into the post office to request either a manual postmark or mail it using registered or certified mail, which provides a mailing receipt and tracking.
Pay online, don’t stand in line! The Dallas County Tax Office also offers county residents the convenient option of paying online with an eCheck, for no additional fee, or with a credit or debit card. All credit and debit card transactions are subject to card processor convenience fees. To make your payment online, visit www.dallascounty.org/tax or scan the QR code on your property tax statement. Payments can also be made by phone by calling 1-877-253-0150. Mr. Ames concluded, ”Please be safe and conduct your transaction online if possible. We look forward to serving the needs of the citizens of Dallas County.”
